The BBS RT88 wheel is a motorsport-inspired design engineered to deliver authentic racing heritage combined with the durability and reliability required for high-performance road use. Developed through collaboration between BBS Motorsport teams in Germany and the United States, the RT88 adapts the iconic engineering and visual identity of the legendary BBS E88 race wheel for modern street and track-day vehicles.
The wheel integrates a forged multi-spoke center inspired by the E88 with a high-strength forged barrel derived from the BBS LM wheel program developed in Japan. This construction enhances structural rigidity while reducing unsprung mass, which improves steering precision, suspension response, and overall vehicle dynamics. Unlike pure racing wheels, the RT88 incorporates protective finishes and improved air retention to ensure long-term durability in real-world driving conditions.
Manufactured using advanced forging techniques and optimized through FEM structural analysis, the RT88 achieves an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. The design also ensures compatibility with modern high-performance braking systems, including large brake packages and carbon ceramic brakes.
